Finding Love

Why Is It Easier For Everyone Else To Find Love

If you’ve recently broken up with someone, or perhaps been single for longer than you would have liked, then it’s natural to think to yourself: “Why is it easier for everyone else to find love?” or “What’s wrong with me?”. In this relationship advice guide, we’re going to give you some tips and advice on overcoming these negative thoughts, and ultimately find the love and connection you desire in life, so let’s begin.

Finding Love

Don’t be so hard on yourself

To start with, you need to stop romanticizing other people’s lives if you’re going to find true peace and happiness. When you’re single, it’s easy to think that everyone with a relationship must be happy, but this couldn’t be further from the truth. Realise that while having a relationship can be nice, it doesn’t ‘complete’ you in anyway – because you’re already whole and complete, you just don’t realise it! Nobody else can make you happy, if you can’t be happy by yourself first.

Remember that a relationship doesn’t automatically give your life meaning, and there are several freedoms you have, being single, which you won’t have once you’re in a committed relationship.

There are pros and cons to everything in life and it’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking the grass is greener on the other side. Whenever you’re feeling down about your love life, remember the truth of this fact and you’ll be able to get yourself back on track – instead of thinking negative (and unrealistic) thoughts which don’t help you in any way.

Focus on other things

Next, it’s a good idea to not dwell too much on your current relationship status. Instead, spend your time looking for fulfilling work, or develop your interests and hobbies. Not only is this a more enjoyable way to spend your life, but you’ll also develop your character and become a more interesting person. What’s more, there’s a good chance you’ll meet someone special along your travels – especially if you take up dance lessons or go to a cookery class.

Nobody ever met anybody special by sitting at home and feeling sorry for themselves, so do your best to get out there in the world and take part as much as possible. When you start to really engage with life, you’ll find many ways to feel fulfilled – even if you’re not in a relationship. While this may not feel true for you right now, realise that it can be true for you when you start investing in your life. How you feel now isn’t how you’ll always feel – that’s guaranteed.
